5 July 2007The Republic of the Philippines also known as Philippines , commonly referred to as Paradise Philippines, and Pilipinas to its natives, is an archipelago which comprises 7,107 islands (2,500 of it are not even named). It has three principal Islands: the Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Of the 7,107 islands, 11 large islands make up more than 90% of the Paradise Philippines‘ 297,850 square kilometers. Two-thousand of the islands are inhabited, and only about 500 of them are larger than one square mile.
Lying within the Pacific basin, this country has a tropical climate. Summer starts in January with March and April being the warmest. The average daytime temperatures in coastal areas ranges from 21 to 32 degrees Celsius. The Rainy season typically occurs from June to December.
Most of the country generates a laidback, stable, and fairly safe atmosphere. The natives are very hospitable and helpful, accommodation is abundant and English is widely spoken.
